Morris County NJ #1 Nutritionist for digestive disorders
There are many healthy foods that I simply stop recommending to my patients. And clients . As a Morris County NJ #1 Nutritionist for digestive disorders, I believe, all of these foods are healthy, just have a slow digestion process, and if someone is trying to lose weight will not be in their best interest to eat them. Most of my realization about this was when I try to get my clients to eat these foods and turn out into a bloated body rather than lighter and healthier. I will name the 5 worse healthy foods you may be eating that may be killing your weight loss plans:
Dairy
Lots of people think that dairy is super healthy and turn into the low sodium butter, milk, yogurt etc. The true is that the best yogurt still contains lactose, and so does skim milk and your best low calorie butter. Lactose doesn’t digest properly whether you are lactose intolerant or not. When you consume too much lactose it goes into the large intestine and diarrhea can develop or worsen. I sometimes like to use yogurt (lactose free primarily) but for the most part, we try to avoid foods containing any type of lactose.
Acid Foods
Some tomato sauce and citrus fruits such as lemons. limes oranges and grateful, can be very distressful on the stomach. Although I use them on my clients I try to be cautious when it comes of weight loss as this can complicated digestion. I would put carbonated drinks on this category as well.
Artificial Sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners perhaps most associated with digestive problems is sorbitol is a hard to digest sugar found naturally in some foods including, prunes, apples and peaches and is something used to sweeten gum and diet foods. Once sorbitol reaches the large intestine it often creates gas bloating and diarrhea , if you have present stomach issues, check the food labels so that you can absorb sorbitol.
Caffeine
Stimulates gastrointestinal tract mobility making contents move more quickly to your system, any excessive amounts can give anyone diarrhea, so for people suffering from stomach disorders, caffeine only worsen the issue, you should avoid caffeine but all counts as will be worsen the digestive issues. Although most of my clients/patients don’t suffer form diarrhea, I still recommend to easy out on the consumption of this beverage.
Spicy Foods
If you are experiencing nausea vomiting and diarrhea, you wan to avoid food choices that stimulate the digestive system. Any kind of spices that are eaten in excess will lead to serious issues according to the Clinical Nutritional Support Services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. They may have no effect on some people, however, cause indigestion for others. In general you should choose bland foods when you are having digestive problems, and be sure to avoid spices if you are sensitive to them.
Conclusion
Avoid spicy foods, acid foods , and dairy among others, and particularly pay attention to your stomach signs. If becomes too irritated, then is time to ditch even caffeine. Those foods can be the cause of your bloating issues, lack of weight loss results and may even be causing inflammation.
