Personal Trainer And Nutritionist Denville NJ

I’ve been a recreational drinker for years, and just the usual thing on weekends 2 o 3 beers, or 2 o 3 glasses of wine. I noticed my performance as an athlete was the same and my life in general, was equally fine. But one of the few things I noticed was that I felt dependent of it every weekend, as discipline as I am, I was always looking forward to the weekend to try that bottle of wine in the fridge or my favorite beer. Furthermore after drinking my personal portions I felt tired and never drunk but sleepy, and with lethargy.

I came to the conclusion that I needed to quit alcohol period, and I had to start immediately to see if any changes were possible. I am a competitive, athlete in swimming and Brazilian Jiujitsu. And needless to say that a 50 year old male can’t be as fast a s a 20 ear old youngster. Thus, wanted to see what impact alcohol could play in my current situation if I cut it off forever.

A year after quitting alcohol of my life, I can easily name and describe my 5 top benefits and changes I experienced after cutting alcohol forever:

Much more alert

My goal has never been to stifle my personal life, if something causes pleasure and won’t harm me or anyone I keep doing it. Nonetheless, the alcohol factor, was somewhat bothering me, I felt tired when drinking it and very lethargic, for that reason I wanted to experience the zero alcohol lifestyle.

Immediately after and so far till now, I have seen tons of alertness, quick reactions and fast learning, alcohol in drinks contained ethanol. A poisonous substance that damage your body and causes malnutrition, and can exert a direct toxicological effect due to its interference with ephatic metabolism and immunological functions. In other words just few glasses of wine with ethanol cannot be good for anyone. Thus, after cutting off recreational drinking my brain has been sharped energetic and with lots more of brain retention!

My heart is healthier

Being a competitive swimmer I can easily say that my cardiovascular system has improved a ton since I quit recreational drinking. Here is the thing you may believe that a regular glass of red wine or other alcoholic beverages may be good for your heart, but that is no true, drinking even a glass a day according to webmd can increase your blood pressure and spike your levels of triglycierids and chances of heart failure. Therefore, for me quitting it all has gave me tremendous benefits on lowering my cholesterol, and as mentioned, improving cardiovascular health!.

My liver is cleaner!

I am more active and with lots of energy, my liver has filtering more toxins and is working a such a great speed, as he doesn’t have to be dealing with processing a few drinks a week. Our liver job is to filter toxins. And alcohol is toxic to our cells, heavy drinking gets even worse. Because can take a toll on the organ and lead to fatty liver cirrhosis and other problems. The good news is that your body can repair itself and regenerate so its always worth, quitting alcohol period!

I lost weight

A glass of regular beer has about 150 calories and a serving of wine has about 120, on top of the mostly empty calories, alcohol ramps up your appetite it also makes you more impulsive and less able to resist the junk food around you, so when you stay away from alcohol the number on your scale moves down, my appetite decrease, and lost weight, thus I feel amazing!

I sleep better

I rest more, I recovered faster and perform better!. Alcohol may get you drowsy at first. But one you fall into a slumber. It can wake you repeatedly in the night. Plus it disrupts the important REM stage of sleep and may interfere with your breathing. You may also need to get up more often to pee. Try skipping alcohol, especially in the late afternoon, and evening will give you a more restful shut eye!
